Katie Valenzuela was considered a long-shot city council candidate and was on a microbudget. She needed a strong grassroots media presence. We pitched a video concept that highlighted her community involvement and the support she had from a diverse group of concerned citizens.
We produced and directed a one-minute video titled “We Are Katie” targeted for social media. The video featured Sacramento residents in stark black and white stating “I am Katie Valenzuela” to highlight that Katie represents all citizens while standing up for progressive ideals. Highlight: she won the council seat!
