Description: DPR Construction commissioned several local artists to design new artwork for their newly constructed midtown office in Sacramento, CA.

We created a 4ft x 6ft laser etched stainless steel panel of native Sacramento region plants designed by Jessa Ciel. The final “portrait” is an homage to the Maidu and Miwok cultures that tended (and continue to tend) this land long before European settlers arrived. The artwork is meant to inspire contemplation of our environmental impact on land and people, and to reflect on the past to make better decisions for our future. It took a year to find the right studio that would take on this project. Thank you to BJ Wilkes in PA for taking on what no other laser cutter in the country would.
